Tour Info

The Tour

Each participant can cycle the stages at his/her own pace. You can choose to cover the distance in a more or less relaxing way with exploring the local villages, photo stops at every chosen moment, a well deserved break on a terrace or a visit to the gelateria. Alternatively, you can try to cover the distance as fast you can.

We advise you to bring a GPS which has the option to upload files. It is a very helpful device to find the correct way without looking at detailed maps or an overload of instructions.

Support Vehicles

The journey is supported by two vehicles. One vehicle brings the luggage to the next place, so you don't have to carry luggage on your bike. The other vehicle gives support on the road and provides the lunch half way the stage.

The cyclists who are not able to ride, or cannot finish the stage, have always the possibility to take a seat in one of the support vehicles. We will take care that everyone arrives at the finish location before the evening.

Food

The hotels provide every day an extensive breakfast. During cycling stages we offer halfway a tasty lunch and we make sure that you can recover at the end of the stage with some refreshments. Next to that we provide fruit, energy drinks and energy bars.

We have 8 times dinner together at the hotel after the stage, and one time at the hotel on the rest day in Santo Stefano di Sessanio. The other 5 evenings on cycling days, and the rest day in Siena you have the opportunity to explore and sample the local cuisine on your own.

Accommodation

You stay the whole journey in hotels. The night before the start in Genoa and after the finish in San Benedetto del Tronto you also stay in a hotel.

Participants

The number of participants is limited due to organizational reasons. For people from all over the world it is possible to sign up for the tour.

The tour is open for men and women with an age between 16 and 67. Everyone with a good health and passion for cycling can finish the journey in a normal way.

Non-Cyclists

It is an option to join as non-cycling participant, which means that you can take a seat in one of the support vehicles. You make the same journey as the cycling participant, it's only not on the bike.

You can help the other crew with shopping, prepare the lunch halfway or help in the kitchen; but first of all : you must enjoy the journey. We will not asked you to help. It's all up to yourself if you want to help. We prefer that all participants ( and especially the non-cyclists ) visit the local towns and villages where we stay, in stead of chopping carrots.

The registration and Entry Fee is similar as for cyclists.
