The route from
Nice to
the Mont Blanc and back to
Nice has been
divided into 17 cycling stages and three rest days in
Briançon,
Chamonix and l'Alpe d'Huez.
The cycling days have mostly the same schedule : after a
start early in the morning you cycle the distance at own
speed to the next place. Normally small groups are
formed by riders of the same strength and interest.
The stages have an average length of 98 kilometres,
depending on the profile and the location of suitable
accommodation. You can expect long and big climbs during
the whole tour. The average elevation gain is around
2.500 meters per day. That's serious
business.
At the start in Nice you receive an extensive tour guide
with background information about the route.
A GPS which has the option to upload files is essential
and very helpful to find the correct way without looking
at detailed maps and an overload of instructions. |
